Veeranwali TV Serial is a sitcom genre that people will easily relate to. Produced by creative eye, the show aired on 9X on January 14, 2008, till 2009. The emotional series binds the audience together and gives them a dose of the funny side, emotions as well as a look into the severe sufferings in life. The story design revolves around Simi, the main protagonist (which is played by a very sophisticated actress Ms Garima Bhatnagar who we are all familiar with) and her two brothers Kushal (Vicar Sheikh) and Dharma (Adesh Chaudhary).
Simi leads a very protected life, has a very deep connection and a well-built bond with her brothers but later she meets Parmeet (Sameer Sharma) and falls in love with him. We then witness the different sufferings she has to go through to make up her life and surviving on her own. Veeranwali is a heartwarming tale that depicts daily life scenarios that every family unit has faced once which makes it even more relatable. It also throws light on the hardships a woman has to go through in day to day life.
The characters are rooted in real life that makes it interesting to watch. Veeranwali – the Punjabi word can be broken down into two parts VEERA meaning brothers and WALI meaning to have, meaning she has brothers. Garima Bhatnagar in an interview says, “It is a typical Punjabi serial. It centres on a simple Punjabi family and mostly revolves around the relationship between the sister and her brothers.” Talking about her character, she adds, “My character is that of a very bubbly girl who is the apple of everyone’s eye. ’ Veeranwali is an emotive roller coaster and is bound to keep Indian Homemakers engaged and glued to the screens.
Garima Bhatnagar as Simi: Simi is a very protected girl who is yet to face hardships of her life but when she does face them, instead of giving up; she fights them up.
Adesh Chaudhary as Dharma and Vicar Sheikh as Kushal: They are the brothers of Simi who love her very much, but once everything goes down, they fail to protect their sister. Sameer Sharma as Parmeet: He and Simi share the love interest in the serial.
Meera Shah as Mandira: This is a very negative character in the serial which makes Simi’s life more miserable.
