Gaon Hunter Babu Ka is a Hindi serial broadcast on the Doordarshan DD Kisan channel. Hunter Babu is the name of a main character of this serial. He helps his villagers in every possible way. He used to secretly keep a packet full of food for Keshav. Keshav is not so well financially. Hunter has been helping him from a month. The other members of the village are Rangeeli, Silencer, Senori Devi, and Chaubey Jiwho is the moneylender of the village. Senori Devi is ChaubeyJi's wife. Shakuntala Devi needs money so she asks Chaubey Ji to keep her land under his custodyso she can borrow some money in return.He refuses to keep Sakuntala Devi's land as it would earn very less income. Besides, she barely makes her daily food from the land she has. The loaned land would be of no use to Chaubey Ji so refuses to help him.
ChaubeyJi is a superstition man. He believes that if someone sneezes while he going out of the house to work, it means an unlucky sign. Chaubey slaps his son for sneezing. He fights with his wife for correcting him. Hunter is discussing schemes to make good quality seeds with Silencer. The collector of their village calls Hunter to tell him that Senori Devi will be awarded the best female farmer award. Senori Devi promises Shakuntala Devi that she would bring the facilities provided by the government for women in the village. She makes ShakuntalaDevi to understand that women can do anything and no work is small.
Shakuntala Devi's husband is in the city but he has stopped sending money to her. A collector in the village declares Senori Devi best female farmer. Senori Devi has all the knowledge of fertilizer and seeds. She educates her villagers about them. Hunter has a son named Avatar. Avatar is working in a bank and is also preparing for the UPSC exam. Avatar makes his friends meet his father in his home. This serial keeps giving snippets of information regarding farming i.e. tips for farmers to follow regarding amount of urea in fertilizer and water. Avatar starts preparing for IAS exam. The story progresses with the introduction of Neha who is Hunter's wife's best friend's daughter. Neha is coming to live with Hunter and his family. Hunter knows the true reason for Neha’s arrival. Neha is coming to meet her childhood friend Avatar, Hunter’s son.
