Ye Dil Ke Rishtey TV Serial - Doordarshan DD National (DD1)

The story of the show ‘Yeh Dil Ke Rishtey’ was given by Shabuddin Chowdary. Abhishek Dudhaiya has done the direction work. Paras Jaiswal performed the screenplay and Nawab Arzoo was the lyricist. He also contributed in giving the dialogues along with Tanveer Durrani. The music department was in the hands of Lalit Sen. The show started on Indian TV channel DD1 on 6th December 2010. This show proves the lines “There is nothing on this earth to be prized more than true friendship.” It has portrayed the real and boundless friendship between the two closest friends Abdullah and Shankar. It is obvious from their names itself that they both belong to different religion, different traditions and different cultures but beyond all these, they have a strong connection of friendship between them. Their bond does not care about religion and caste and by this they have set established humanity in the Indian society. Unity among a Muslim and a Hindu friend is depicted in the show, and no difference is seen in their friendship with the burden of religious variations. Also, the problems in their lives did not create any adverse impact or misunderstanding between them. They both come out smoothly from every problem by mutually understanding each other and have taken humanity to a higher standard. They both had their personal lives, but no issue was able to break this strong bond. The story took a drastic turn and situations became so critical that Abdullah had to lose his life for the sake of his friend Shankar and their friendship. After his death, Shankar takes the whole responsibility of Abdullah’s child. He promises to give the best care and upbringing to them and make sure that they marry and settles in a Muslim community. He did not force them to change their culture or religion as he was their new parent. He did not make any difference between them and his children. He gave the same kind of care, affection and love to those children as they would get from Abdullah. Shankar also fulfilled his duty towards Abdullah’s daughter. He made sure that she follows all the customs and traditions of the Muslim religion. He provided her all the Muslim education as a Muslim child gets from the parents. He did not make them feel any difference between them and Shankar’s own children. As a father, he performed all his duties and responsibilities towards Abdullah’s children, although they were not his own children. The friendship of Shankar and Abdullah is an inspiration for today’s generation as they believe that no other relation is stronger than the blood relation. They need to know that the relation of friendship is above all the relations because they are not connected by blood but hearts. And that is why the show is given the title “Yeh Dil Ke Rishtey.”
