Talaash is an old drama series that was telecasted by Doordarshan DD National. This series originally aired on the television during the year 1992. The plot of this serial was adopted from a novel named, ‘Sonar Kathi Rupor Kathi’ which was written by Ashutosh Mukherjee.
It was Geetanjali Minidub who created the series. The direction part of the series was taken up by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and it was produced by Jayanta Mukherjee. This series ran for a total of 26 episodes. The story revolves around the plot of searching an old friend by the male lead. The role of the male lead was played by Alok Nath. He took up the character of the author, under the name ‘Shankarlal Shrivastava’.
The whole story is about the male lead’s quest to find his long-lost friend. It also involves his quest to find the reasons for his friend’s disappearance. It was Vijayendra Ghatge who was chosen to play the role of the male lead’s friend. He took up the character name of ‘Sudhir’ in the plot. Beena took up the role of male lead’s wife in the series.
Each episode of the serial ran around 23 minutes. The editing of the show was done by Deepak Kapoor. Zaheer D. Lari wrote the dialogues and screenplay of the series. Other important characters in this series are Urmila and Sudhir’s mother. These roles were played by Moushumi Chatterjee and Dina Pathak respectively.
