Doordarshan DD Metro or DD 2 is Doordarshan’s another Hindi Entertainment Channel for the Metro cities. The channel was initially launched as a terrestrial channel. However, it was available to a lot of cable operators in the nation. DD Metro's popularity grew over years as it started telecasting shows of various genres including serials, women-centric shows, talk shows, interviews, reality shows, comedies, etc. Besides DD Metro also broadcasted popular Hollywood movies dubbed in Hindi on holidays.
It even rose to become the most watched Entertainment channel replacing Star Plus in 2000-2001. DD Metro telecasted some of the top Entertainment programs of all time.
