Kakaji Kahin’ was a political satire for television that was telecast on Doordarshan. It was one of Basu Chatterjee's acclaimed works for Indian television. Based on a book called 'Netaji Kahin' by well-known author Manohar Shyam Joshi, it was translated as 'Kakaji Kahin,' that means 'Where is Kakaji?'
Om Puri played the lead character of a corrupt and aspiring power broker with a great sense of humor. Basu Chatterjee was a very economic filmmaker and hence when the location was not available, he shot the sequence only in the black background.
Om Puri's loud laughter was one of the highlights of the show. Other cast included Akhil Mishra as computer baba. This series also had become very popular, and Om Puri was appreciated by viewers a lot.
