Isi Bahane was a suspense drama, directed by Anand Mahendroo, which was aired on Doordarshan. Doordarshan network serial called Isi Bahane was based on novel ‘Leave It to Psmith’ written by of P G Wodehouse. It is an adaptation of P G Wodehouse’s novel. In this TV serial, there are the usual crop of girls to woo, crooks to foil, imposters to unmask, haughty aunts to baffle and valuable necklaces to steal. The item which the plot revolves around is the necklace.
The serial can easily boast about its assembled cast of seasoned actors like Saeed Jaffrey and Kirron Kher in the pivotal role. The funniest actor in the series was Sushmita Mukherjee, who played the role of Lisse with her personal secretary Junior( Liliput) who wanted to steal the necklace worn by Kirron Kher. In this serial, Anu Aggarwal made her debut in glamor world through this serial. The cast also included Mohnish Behl, Mazhar Khan and Malvika Tiwari in other central characters.
The opening of this TV series shows how Sushmita wants to steal the necklace from the neck of Kirron Kher, which was presented to her by her husband, Saeed Jaffrey. Harsh Vyas composed the music and lyrics were written by actor Liliput. The cinematography credit was given to Gyan Sahay, and Anand Mahadevan did editing of the series.
