Kavita TV Serial was a family Drama Broadcast on DD Metro 9 Gold's Golden Hours in Year 2000. Produced by Ekta Kapoor & Sobha Kapoor's production company Balaji Telefilms Pvt Ltd. Lead roles played by Smriti Irani and Ram Kapoor.
Kavita TV Serial was the story of a girl Kavita (Played by Smriti Irani) who belongs to a middle class family. She was the person with self respect and dignity, and she wants to be Independent and searching for the job, she got hired in a hotel as a waitress where she met with her boss Rishi Grover (Played by Ram Kapoor), Rishi, he is very rich and is a business tycoon, she likes talking with Kavita as she is very hard working and loyal, Rishi tries to help Kavita every time when she is in need this spread rumors about them that they are seeing each other.
After few episodes, Rishi who is releasing that he loves Kavita but got to know that Kavita is engaged with someone . Rishi’s sister also thinks that there is something fishing between Rishi and Kavita but Rishi gave clarification to her that there is nothing between them. The very next day Kavita’s fiancé called off their engagement because of rumors. Hearing about this Rishi comes in Kavita’s home, but her dad tells him that Kavita’s life has been spoiled by him now who will marry her then Rishi tells him that he wants to marry her this annoyed Kavita as she thinks that Rishi is doing a favor on her but when Rishi explains her that he loves her she agrees.
On the wedding night Rishi’s friend made him drink alcohol and when he comes into the room where Kavita was waiting for him he collapsed, next day he apologizes to that. But Kavita’'s struggle started when she was insulted by her Mother in law as she dislikes her, her family background and also she was against the marriage but her Father in law loves her like daughter , later she was told by her Father in law that to make peace in to the house she either shift somewhere or leave her job and she leave her job but she again joins the job to re-pay the money given by Rishi for her Mother’s operation and her struggle begins as the boss asked her to take help from her in law's to get new assignments, Rishi agrees on this but she doesn'’t want as she doesn'’t want to loose her mother in laws faith in her. But as her destiny was always with her she manage to handle all problems .
Kavita TV Serial was one of the four tv serials which was termed as "Gold Hits on Nine Gold". Other shows were: Kundali, Piyaa Binaa and Smriti. This was the first serial in which Ram Kapoor played a romantic character. Maya Alag, Gufi Paintal jayati Bhatia, also played their role beautifully. The Story and concept was from Ekta kapoor, while saurabh V Bhatt composed music of title track and Kaushik Ghatak directed this serial. Later, after Nine Gold went off air, this serial was also aired on STAR Plus.
