Ekta Kapoor's Itihaas TV Serial was aired on Doordarshan DD National in 1998 at Afternoons. Initially the serial was not performing well, and ekta kapoor was planning to shut down the show, but her mother Shobha Kapoor advised her to wait for some more time. After 4 Months of its run, the show started getting pace and became a Huge Hit. Itihaas was first ever family drama from Ekta Kapoor.
It is the story of two generation. It is a story of Ambika, a royal who seeks justice for her husband’s death. This is also a tale of a widow who success in her crusade against all odds at last. Based on a story by Ekta Kapoor and Vinod Ranganath, the serial was directed by Gogi Anand.
The concept was by Nirmala Sood, and the screenplay was by Vinod Ranganath. B R Ishara wrote dialogues, and the music was composed by Lalit Sen. Priya Tendulkar, Prabha Sinha, Savita Prabhune, Joan David, Arun Bali, Pratima Kazmi forms the assembled cast in the series.
