Mashaal is a TV serial aired on DD National in the Hindi language. It was a classic tv show created by Arun Govil, who played as Ram in the classic saga Ramayan. He also played the role of the main Protagonist in the serial. The cast of the show included Shree Lekha, Sudesh Berry, Manu, Shrikant Moghe, Sulbha Arya, Javed Khan, Avtar Gill, Bashir Khan, Chandrakant Pandya, Saathi, and Ajay Chaudhary in the lead role. It was written by Gyandev Agnihotri, with the help of Ajay Deo Singh. It was produced by Arun Govil with the help of Manik Gupta. The show was directed by Ramesh Talwar. The serial was inspired by true events from British ruled India.
The show was about freedom fighters fighting for the freedom of India. The lead protagonist of the show was named Ajay, played by Arun Govil. The serial starts with Ajay being in prison and a teacher coming to make his bail. This is where the police officer asks the teacher why Ajay always keeps getting himself in trouble why not just stop doing all this. He tells him that he will continue to speak till India is a free country. Then the police officer says that this is never going to happen, no one is made to free India from prisoners. Later he scolds them for saying Vande Matram. Ajay’s father is against the things he does. He tells him that he should stop doing all this and should get a job.
His wife is named Lakshmi. They all worried about Ajay’s younger brother Sunil. They think that Sunil is doing some wrong things that are going to put him in trouble. Ajay teaches in a college. He is the professor of the Hindi language. He is patriotic and wants his students to do the same things. Sunil loves a girl named Nandini from the same college. Arun’s father is a DSP, and his youngest brother Prakash is in London doing his studies. They all find out that he has married a foreign girl. When he reaches home with his wife, his mother ignores him and does not want to talk to him. At the same time, Ajay supports his brother’s decision to marry a white girl.
Later they tell Prakash that his wedding was already fixed with a girl, and now they all have to do the things they never imagined. Later Ajay apologizes to everyone for his brother. Later a printing press is raided for illegal things. Britishers find out that people are doing crazy things for independence. While raiding the printing press, Sunil’s father finds out that Sunil is the one running the illegal activities. Sunil has managed to escape and now his father tells Ajay all about it.
