Trayodashi TV Serial - Doordarshan DD National (DD1)

Trayodashi was a Hindi TV serial that aired on Doordarshan during the years 2010 – 2011. The show was specifically made to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the Nobel Laureate, Rabindranath Tagore. An extremely talented poet, playwright, novelist and painter, Doordarshan honored his memory with the serial, Trayodashi. Buddhadeb Dasgupta created a series of thirteen short films based on thirteen notable poems of Tagore. Each “film” was about thirty – minutes long and showed the countryside of West Bengal which formed the backdrop for most of the poet’s work. Some of the episodes were Banshiwala, Pukur Dhare, and Krishnakali. Doordarshan telecasted these clips on the channel to celebrate Tagore’s anniversary..
