Sankat Mochan Hanuman is a TV series telecast on Doordarshan. It is a mythological series based on Ramayana. The show had depicted Lord Hanuman, who had been a great devotee of Lord Rama and how he helped his Lord in defeating Ravana. Also, it showed the birth of the Lord Hanuman and his childhood activities. The TV series was produced and directed by Rajesh Singh Chauhan, and the screenplay was written by Umesh Upadhyay and Vijay Pandit.
Rajesh Singh produced this mythological drama series. The main cast included Surendra Pal, Abhishek Chouhan, Jitendar, Chirag Dave and Riya Tiwari. The television drama was based on Valmiki Ramayana, Jain Ramayana, Bali Ramayana, Thai Ramayana, etc. Music was composed by Ravindra Jain and Bali Hoque. The title and other songs were sung by Ravindra Jain, Sadhana Sargam, and Suresh Wadkar. Dance choreographer was Bhushan Lakhandari. The graphics were created by Sujit and Tanmoy (Grey matter).
The creative director was Satish Kasbe and Omar Khatri, and the episode director was Ajay Kumar Mishra. Child artist master Jeet Patel played the role of child Hanuman. As the television program was based on the legends of Hanuman, Ram, Sita and Lakshman were kept alive on small screen. Samiksha Bhatt played the character of Sita, and Raj Premji played the character of Ravan. It had total 200 episodes run on DD National. The program was broadcast on March 10, 2012, and ran until November 10, 2013, on DD National.
The TV drama series was dubbed into other languages too and was telecast in regional Doordarshan channel. It was dubbed in Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Maithili. The serial was telecast Monday to Wednesday every week at 8.30 pm.
