Kachchi Dhoop’ was aired on Doordarshan in 1987. Actor-cum-director Amol Palekar directed it. It was a middle- class family drama. It had shown how life passes through any events only just to make our real life incidents bloom in everyone’s life. It was a simple tale, but Amol Palekar had made the theme presentation so well that the happenings in the serial were equivalent to our life. It was a drama about three young sisters. It is the story of a single mother and her three daughters.
Actress Bhagyashree, who later debuted in film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989), played the role of the eldest sister. Madhuvanti and Shalmalee Palekar performed other sister's role. Bharti Achrekar played the mother role. Amol Palekar also played a role in it. It was a sweet tale of three daughters, their friends, and neighbors that touched the nation’s heart. Chitra Palekar wrote the story. It is said that ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ girl Bhagyashree made her debut into acting with this serial. Later, she worked with Salman Khan in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ and became the craze of the nation. Btu this serial ’Kachchi Dhoop’ was also a milestone in her career. Later on, she acted in many TV series. The series was based on a novel ‘Little Women’ written by Louisa Mary Alcott.
