Ek Raja Ek Rani is one of the oldest Hindi TV serial. It was originally telecasted on DD Metro (Doordarshan) in the year 1996. Then later the serial was moved to Zee TV. The genre of the serial is drama and comedy.
The story is mainly about the lives of a millionaire Ajay Kapoor and a beautiful girl named Shweta Mehta. Ajay is very rich. He achieved everything in his life. But he is deprived of true love. And then he meets Shweta. Both Ajay and Shweta fall in love with each other. But soon they find out that they have to face many hurdles in order to be with each other. Shweta’s mother and uncle do not like Ajay, and they try everything to separate him from Shweta. On the other hand, Shweta’s dad and one of her cousins Kalidas, who is also Ajay’s friend, try to keep Ajay and Shweta together.
The serial stars some popular actors in the lead role. Shekhar Suman played the role of Ajay while Bhairavi Raichura played Shweta. Shekhar Suman is a good actor and comedian, and he did a great job in this serial. The serial was produced by Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) and directed by Kushan Nandy. Pritish Nandy and his production house PNC made some excellent and memorable shows in 90s. Ek Raja Ek Rani is one of them. Ek Raja Ek Rani won the Aashirwad award in the year 1999.
