Bante Bigadte is a serial on Doordarshan telecasted in the year 1985. This serial was about a couple from Jhansi who come to Bombay. Murari and Dulari are the ideal couples who are contrast to each other. While Murari is a day-dreamer, Dulari is a practical wife and takes her responsibility. Here comes another character Himmatbhai who strikes a balance between the two contrasting couple.
Murari has a friend called Banwari with whom he devises whimsical ideas but every time Dulari steps in and corrects Murari’s way of thinking. Actually, the couple had inherited the property of Murari’s maternal uncle and had shifted to Bombay to lead a sophisticated life but it leads to many hilarious situations that create a strong impact in the mind of viewers.
The serial was produced by Rakesh Chowdhary and it was directed by Sanjiv Bhattacharya and Mainak Trivedi. The story writer of the serial was Muneer and Ashok Patole. The camera was handled by Bharat Nerkar and music was composed by Sapan Jagmohan. The cast included Paresh Rawal, Rita Bhaduri, Ajit Vachani, Somesh Agarwal, Geeta Khanna, and 'Rajendranath Zutshi'.
The serial had a run for 13 episodes only. In those days, Doordarshan used to finish a serial within a maximum of 25 episodes.
