A Mouthful of Sky was the first serial in English to be produced in India, aired on the Doordarshan DD National. This show is based on the script written by Ashok Banker. The serial describes the lives, loves, aspirations and ideas of the post independence generations of India. It also tries to figure out people of mid thirties, who span the twin worlds of Indian society as well as urban culture.
The story is about five MBAs who reunite after 12 years of graduation. They reunite to discuss a chilling secret from the past which a group of their enemies use to try to destroy them. This crime thriller structure woes plots dealing with urban Indians from various communities and their hard struggle to mix with western and Indian culture. Written by novel writer Ashok, and produced by Amit Khanna this show casted stars like Milind Soman and Ranjeev Mulchandani in addition to 'Neesha Singh'. It outlines a group of five MBA students who reunite after 12 years. They discuss about drastic changes in their lives after college.
Being the first English daily soap in India this series gained much popularity in an era when there are only a few TV sets, not only in India but also in rest of the world.
