Swabhimaan was a soap opera that was telecasted by DD National. This was telecasted during the afternoons. This series ran from the year 1995 through the year 1997. The time duration of the series was 25 minutes. The direction part of this series was performed by Mahesh Bhatt.
The script for this serial was written by Shobha De along with Vinod Ranganath. The dialogue writer, Surabhi Pandey also contributed in the writing part. Amit Khanna was the producer of this afternoon series. This series has shown the story of Svetlana. She would find herself in a fight where there were no real champions. She would struggle to come up with her position.
This series showed well about the inheritance wars along with some other issues. The emotional turmoil was threatening to destroy her. This series ended by showing the villains being killed/jailed. The role of Svetlana was played by ‘Kitu Gidwani’. This show has the pride of completing 500 episodes for the first time in Indian Television history. This series was produced by making use of ‘multi-camera’ setup.
The art direction part was done by Samir Chanda. This show was famous for having spoken well about the succession rights as well as property entanglements. Famous actors like AnjuMahendru, Shital Thakkar, Karan Oberoi and Anupam Bhattacharya had made their cast in this series.
