Bible Ki Kahaniya’ was a mythological Hindi language serial based on the scriptures of the Bible. It is believed that each episode was shot on a budget of Rs 16 Lakh to Rs 20 Lakh. The research team seems to have gone through 4,000 books and related material on the holy book to come to a conclusion what life actually was in those days.
The opening scene was based on Adam and Eve episode and Raza Murad, who played Noah, had appeared in the first episode. 'Urmila Matondkar' played Noah’s wife niece. In the third episode, actor 'Shammi Kapoor' appeared as King Nimrod. The serial then picked up three stories of Abraham played by actor Kabir Bedi. Actor 'Mohan Gokhale' played the role of Issac and actress Radha Seth played the role of Sara in it.
Eminent actors like Rita Bhaduri and Kanwaljit Singh played the role of Deborah and Jacob respectively. Karthik Raja composed the title song. Jose Punnose was the producer of the serial. Lyrics were written by famous poet Kaifi Azmi and music director was Louis Banks and Vanraj Bhatia. The art director was Sabu Cyril and K. Seker, who worked in designing the set of the serial. Prof. Geroge Menachery was the research director.
This was the first Christian mythological epic to be telecasted on Doordarshan. It aired on every Sunday at 10 am.
