Mr. Mehmaan serial was aired in DD Metro, which was also known as Channel 9. This serial was directed by Saurabh Shukla. He also gave his appearance in this serial.
Metro Gold was jointly ventured by Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited (HFCL) and DD Metro. The original Nine television network was owned by Kerry Francis Bullmore Packer. It is an Australian Company. In India, the channel was launched on September 8, 2000. The shows of the channel made it popular within a short time. They telecasted their shows in the time slots of 9AM to 12PM and 7PM to 10PM every day. But the channel didn’t survive long as there were some disagreements between the channel ventures. In October 21, 2003 the channel was closed. The channel aired various popular drama, comedy, horror and reality shows. Some of them were Mamla Gadbad Hai, Kavita, Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Superstars and Mr. Mehmaan etc.
Saurabh Shukla made his directorial debut with this serial. The show Mr. Mehmaan won the Radio and Television Advertising Practitioners' Association (RAPA) best direction award. He is famous for his character Kallu Mama in Satya. The film was produced by Ramgopal Varma. He also appeared in Bandit Queen in 1992. In this movie, he worked with Shekhar Kapur. In serial Tehkikaat, Saurabh Shukla played the character of Gopi.
