Kaanch TV Serial - Doordarshan DD National (DD1)

Kaanch TV Serial was premiered on DD National in 1 November, Year 2004, every monday and Tuesday at 8:30PM. The Storyline of the serial was focused on two sisters: Payal and Palak. In this Love-Triangle story, both the girls fell in love with a boy. Later in this story Payal got married with her love, while Palak got married with father of that boy. This twist brought several ups and downs in relation between two sisters. Kanwaljeet singh played the role of father of both sisters.

Kkaanch Serial was said to be a journey of emotions, the saga of circumstances where relationships are fragile and yet tough. The serial tells story of a Kanwar family comprising an adorable father, a caring mother, and two daughters- Payal and Palak. While everything is hunky dory, calamity befalls on the family ripping them apart. The Story-line of the serial was focused on two sisters: Payal and Palak. Indraprastha Television Pvt. Ltd. produced this series was started airing on Doordarshan, when DD Metro was converted into DD News,and DD started to deliver quality content on DD1. They managed their News section in just 30 Mins, which was earlier of 1 Hour. Raman Kumar produced the series and directed by Ashish Khurana. It was telecast on Mondays and Tuesdays at night 8.30 pm.

DD brought new shows to its prime time and managed its prime time to 8:30 PM to 11 PM. These shows were Kaanch TV Serial, Meher, Main Banungi Miss India, Kayamat, Dishayein and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.

Kanwaljeet, Avinash Wadhawan, Uday Tikekar, Usha Bachani, Ananya Khare, Madhavi Singh and Smriti Shetty played their roles very well. Kaanch TV Serial was directed by Ashish Khurana, while Vikas Jain wrote the plot of serial and produced this TV Serial. Nawaab Aarzoo penned the lyrics of the title song, which was sung by Pamela Jain on Lalit Sen’s Music. The cinematography was credited to by Ilyas Sheikh and screenplay was done by Anjana Sood. The story is in the backdrop of two sisters who fall in love with the same boy. Doordarshan authorities stated that the serial is a journey of emotions, the saga of circumstances where relationships are fragile and yet tough.

Kaanch TV Serial was enough to catch eyeballs and gave a good kick-start to doordarshan’s prime time. Later this serial was also aired on TV Asia.
