Nadiyaan Gaati Hain is another weekly show that was broadcasted on Doordarshan. It is the largest viewed channel of the country and it has always been a symbol of culture and traditions of the country. Nothing can be a better platform than Doordarshan to educate the people and the youth generation of the country and make them aware of the surroundings. The show is broadcasted on a weekly basis. It is shown on television on Fridays every week. It has managed to get a time slot of 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It is considered good for a show like it to get such a time slot. The serial has been produced by Anupama Productions.

The show is more of a travelogue show rather than a family drama. It is good to see that Doordarshan is paying attention at these fields also and utilizing them to create some interesting concepts and convert them into entertaining shows. As the name suggests, the show displays some travel documentaries that are filmed on rivers, their history, their nearby surroundings, relation to belief of the people and many other factors. The show will consist of a total of thirteen episodes in the whole series. It will cover the central part of country and will be shot in the regions of Madhya Pradesh. It will gather and showcase unique information about the seven rivers that flows in the state. They are also known as the lifeline of the state as it is the basic need of the industries as well as for household purposes.

The rivers named Narmada, Shipra, Betwa, Tapti, Chambal, and Sone will be in the list of the makers to carry put shootings in the local area and research intensively about the mythological beliefs, local beliefs, history, origin, and other unique facts about the rivers. The show is very aptly titled as it clearly resembles the concept of the show. The sweet voice of the rivers when it flows down the valleys and its passage is the meaning of the title. It resembles to the music that it creates while flowing down the ridges and crafts.

The show was much appreciated for its concept and the out of the box thinking that was associated with it. It was the first time when Doordarshan decided to broadcast a travel show at such prime time. It was also criticised by many critics and was considered very risky before the initial release of the show. However, it turned out to be a good decision for the channel and was appreciated by the audience.
