Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki retells a very well-known and one of the most renowned Indian epics. It takes us on the events narrated in the Mahabharata and the show us the events which led to the famous battle of Kurukshetra. The show aired on TV every Monday to Thursday on the 9X TV Channel since 7th July 2008. The show was a modern day recreation of the version of the epic Mahabharata and was very widely viewed by the audiences. The show is a product of the house of Balaji Telefilms. They are better known for giving us other renowned soap operas like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi BahuThi. Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki was one of the largest big budget productions in India.

The team of Muzammil Desai, Garry Bhinder, Talat Jani, and Santram Verma have jointly directed the series. Dheeraj Sarna has penned the memorable dialogues of the program. Manish Paliwal, Mahesh Pandey, and Dr. Bodhaisaattva have in conjunction made the screenplay for the show. Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki narrates the epic saga of the struggle to gain control of Hastinapur’s throne, which is overseen and ruled by the clan of Kuru. The entire battle rages amidst the family’s two branches. Namely, the Pandavas and the Kauravas.

In spite of the seniority of the Kauravas within the family, the eldest Kaurava called Duryodhana, is younger than the eldest Pandava, called Yudhishthira. There exists a battle for the ascending the throne of Hastinapur. The seeds of this epic battle fought in the land of Kurukshetra take place in the boyhood of the Pandavas and the Kauravas. Shakuni, their maternal uncle, left no stone unturned in poisoning the mind and thoughts of Duryodhana. What follows are the various twists and turns laid out in the epic tale of Mahabharata.

Uma Shanker portrays the role of Yudhishtir in the series while Aryan Vaid takes up the mantle of Duryodhana. Accompanying them are ChetanHansraj, who plays the character of Bheem, Ajaz Khan, who brings to life the persona of Dushasan, Ronit Roy, as the wise Bhishma, Harshad Chopra, who takes up the role of Arjun, Anita Hassanandani, in the character of Draupadi. Also, we see Kali Prasad Mukherjee donning the mantle of the one and only Shakuni, HitenTejwani, who brings to life the role of Karna, and Mrunal Jain, who portrays the character of the charming Lord Krishna.
